The Fall 2025 Global Marathon is here, your chance to earn an invitation to the 2026 & 2027 World Championships!

Dates: 30 August – 02 November

Conditions:

• You MUST register for the challenge BEFORE you begin the challenge.
• Manual uploaded results will NOT be accepted.
• Make sure you run/walk the full marathon distance. If you stop your device before reaching 26.2miles/42.195KM your activity will NOT count.
• Run or walk a total of 26.2 miles/42.195KM between 00:00am Saturday, August 30, 2025 and 11:59pm Sunday November 2, 2025 (your local time).
• The marathon distance must be completed in ONE continuous run/walk only.
• Pausing or stopping your device during your activity is not permitted.
• The Global Marathon must be completed outdoors. Treadmill activities will NOT count.
• Miles logged for another marathon/virtual marathon during this period CAN be used to complete the Global Marathon (just ensure your device is connected to your Global Run Club account before completing the distance).
• If you are running more than one marathon during the race window (August 30 – November 2), your fastest time will be used as your challenge submission.
• A marathon course with a constant downward elevation is not permitted. If you choose to run on a looped course, laps must be greater than 0.5 miles in length (to ensure a more accurate GPS reading)
• Registration for the Global Marathon closes at 11:59 pm (GMT) Friday, October 31, 2025.
• Your activity must be uploaded/synced to your Global Run Club profile by 11:59 pm (GMT) Sunday, November 9, 2025.
• Participants must be aged 18 years and above to register for the race.
• Entries are non-refundable.
• By participating in this event, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to the terms and conditions of the PARTICIPANT WAIVER.

AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championship Invite Conditions

Along with the conditions listed above, the following conditions also apply for runners to be eligible for an invitation to the 2026 & 2027 AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championships:

• Runners aged 40 and above will be eligible for the 2026 & 2027 AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championship invites that will be allocated to the best performing runners.
• You must have an Abbott World Marathon Majors profile to be eligible for a World Championship invite. Create your profile at www.worldmarathonmajors.com if you haven’t already.
• You must be aged 40 and above on December 31, 2025 to be eligible for an AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championship invite.
• Invites will be issued based on your age on 31 December, 2025 (for example if you are 44 on race day but turn 45 on or before 31 December, you will be classified in the 45-49 age group)
• Your Global Marathon activity on your connected device/app must be set to ‘public’ so your performance can be reviewed and verified as required.
• There will be a total of 200 invites available to the top age group runners split across all categories for both the 2026 & 2027 AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championships.
• Performances in the Global Marathon will not generate world ranking points for the in-person AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel World Rankings.
• The rankings displayed here after the event will not constitute the final official results. Following the completion of the marathon, a verification process will be carried out with athletes in World Championship qualifying positions.
• The top performing age group runners will be sent a survey after the Global Marathon challenge and must complete this survey to receive an invitation.
• The top performing age group runners may be contacted directly and asked to provide additional proof of performances, if required. Requests for additional results may include:
  • A request for submission of the athlete’s GPX file for their Global Marathon performance
  • A request for proof of an in-person marathon performance of a similar standard (within 15% of your Global Marathon activity) achieved since 1 January 2024, with all timing mat splits recorded.
• World Championship invites will be awarded once all results are reviewed and any necessary verification procedures have been completed. Winners will be notified directly.
• The organizers’ decision is final.
• An invitation to the AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championships is non-transferrable and there is no cash alternative.
• A qualifying place into the AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championships provides the runner with an invite and does not include the entry fee or any additional costs incurred by the runner.
